Small Groups

Bringing all of Christ into all of life ... together.

At Christ Bible Church, small groups meet regularly to practice the “one another” commands in the Bible. In other words, it's where the rubber meets the road. These groups help us build thick community through deep relationships, caring for fellow believers, and using our spiritual gifts to strengthen the church.

Small groups create a place for growth in our faith through mutual support, encouragement, and accountability. We do this by sharing meals, studying God’s word, praying, and singing together.

Core Values of Small Groups at Christ Bible Church

Thick Community | For small groups to thrive, members must intentionally invest in one another’s lives, fostering genuine friendship and mutual care. While the specifics may vary, the core purpose of small groups at Christ Bible Church is to cultivate meaningful, overlapping relationships and shared experiences.

Courageous Vulnerability | True soul care begins with creating an atmosphere of openness. Group leaders strive to encourage this by fostering a safe space where members can share honestly and deeply. Over time, group members should develop closer bonds, allowing them to confidently answer the question, “Is there anything I haven’t shared?”

Graceful Honesty | Vulnerability and honesty go hand in hand. By God’s grace, group members are encouraged to speak truthfully with one another, sharing their hearts with sincerity. This honest dialogue aligns with Paul’s instructions in 1 Thessalonians 5:14: “Admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all,” and Colossians 4:6: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

Serious Joy | Small groups should be a source of delight, where Christ is treasured, and the gift of friendship is celebrated. Through life’s ups and downs, these groups aim to provide a space for rejoicing in God’s goodness and deepening relationships.

Lead a Group

If you are seeking a community that reflects the values and goals mentioned above, you may be the right person to help cultivate that community. Leadership doesn’t require an advanced degree in Bible or a certificate in leading discussions. Instead, we hope our leaders will be individuals who are committed to pursuing Christ, love this church body, and actively encourage the community values we hold for fellow believers.

“Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24–25)
